Lana Del Rey，独立女歌手。从2009年就开始活跃于网络伺机成名，2010年时已自发专辑供网络下载。随后签约经纪人公司，凭借2011年10月的EP《Video Games》令其人气急升，这首歌被著名报刊杂志《The Guardian》称为2011年年度最佳单曲。
2011年9月27日，《Video Games》在美剧《替身姐妹》的一个关键情节中作为背景音乐播出，Lana开始进入主流视野，她也同时在多个场合表演这首歌曲。《滚石》评论：抛开一个新人的紧张感来讲，Lana Del Rey的现场还是相当自信的，即便她的转音有些刺耳。
2012年1月14日，Lana在《周六夜现场 Lana的首砖欧洲14国iTunes登顶》表演了两首歌曲，收到现场观众的积极响应，而来自社会媒体和电视观众的评论却颇值得玩味——NBC晚间新闻主播Brian Williams称其为"SNL史上最糟的音乐表演之一"；女演员Juliette Lewis在Twitter上评论“（她的表演）就像是一个12岁的小姑娘在她的房间里过家家”，然而这条评论隔天早晨就被她的另一条评论取代：“我今早醒来不自觉地哼起Lana Del Rey的歌！那些旋律是那么的让人挥之不去！抛开我个人对于现场表演的口味，她的确是个新鲜有趣的音乐人。就是这样。”
《绯闻女孩》第五季第六集片尾Chuck向Blair道歉时响起的背景音乐为Lana Del Rey的《Video Games》。

有人说她的歌太消极，有点儿像星期六夜场节目，怎么说她的歌呢，就是给人一种浮华幻灭的感觉，有些低沉……沉沦的感觉
