专辑《Indescribable Night》在风格上横跨流行，爵士，民谣，古典等各个领域，而使用的乐器除了传统的流行乐三大件――吉他贝司鼓之外，还包括了钢琴，小提琴，中提琴，萨克思，长笛，管风琴，曼托林等。相对于以爵士流行曲称霸葛莱美的Norah Jones而言，Kate St. John的音乐更加内向而寂静，在旋律上的民谣走向和前者也并非一个套路；而相对于英国众多城市民谣女歌手的流畅曲风而言，Kate St. John更有一分出世的古典气质，在编曲上更显严谨和典雅的欧陆色彩。尽管如此参与专辑的乐手众多，使用的乐器也琳琅满目，音乐编排的层次也丰富多变，但每首曲目都显示出了“因简约而唯美”的精神，干净而毫不晦涩，最终点题的一首《Indescribable Night》终于以流水般婉转的旋律把整张专辑的怀旧浪漫情绪铺陈到到了极致。
