当今DARK SYMPHONIC METAL乐坛唯一能与LACRIMOSA相提并论的乐队就是THEATRE OF TRAGEDY（悲情剧院）。这支来自挪威的五人乐队开创了在极端金属演唱中加入如天使般清澈的女主音这一表现手法。并将其与标准死亡呕腔相互映衬，产生了对位法则下富有“美女与野兽”般的魅力，以至于现在被众多乐队纷纷效仿，成为了一种新的“业界标准”。而Raymond那诗一样浪漫的古英文歌词及乐队音乐中大量的古典音乐元素都使其成为了当时黑暗乐坛的一件艺术珍品。
